The statewide Precinct Election Meetings (P.E.M.s) are coming up. The meetings are held between February 1st thru February 14th - check your county section on this page, below, or the Event's page, (here) for more information about the date, time, location and format of your meeting.
So what is the purpose of a P.E.M.? The meetings are held at the precinct level to elect the delegates and the district chair of that district. Delegates are voting member of the Hawaii Republican Party. The delegates vote at the conventions for bylaw changes and party leadership at the county and state level.
Members of the party can vote for the delegates and delegates can self-nominate but all must show up to vote. (Members must be members at least 10 days before the P.E.M. in order to vote).
Although the delegates are the lowest level of party structure, in a way they retain the most importance and the highest level of the structure by voting for the rules and leadership - thus steering the party in the direction they want it to go. This in turn, results in the efforts of getting more republicans into state and federal offices.
We have had almost 70 years of single party rule that has been detrimental to our rights, our families and our way of life in Hawaii. Fresh ideas and out-of-the-box thinking are needed. We need patriots in these positions to help turn the state red. With President Donald Trump at the helm, we have a great opportunity to help him drain the swamp here in Hawaii.
We need you in the foxhole. Fight! Fight! Fight!
